It could be that I'm wrong, but I'm guessing you're trying to
transport .lha files on floppy from pc to amiga, and find that a lot
of archives are to large?

In that case it might be better to get a filesplitter for the PC, to
split the files into smaller pieces which will fit your floppies.
You should get one that doesn't write stuff to the archive's headers.
One that I used before I got on the 'net at home, was EZSplit.
This will automatically copy the file for you over several disks.
When you get home, you can copy all the parts to your HD (or RAM disk)
and join them using the amiga's standard 'join' command.
It's dead easy! If you use EZSplit, you should just ignore the file
called [filename].ezs, which is just used on the PC side if you
want to rejoin the files with EZSplit.
After that you can unpack the archives normally.
